Oriental Trading's Wish List for Teachers!

I am sooooo excited to share with you about making a CLASSROOM WISH LIST through Oriental Trading. It's the perfect way for you to get more resources and goodies for your classroom! In this post, I'm featuring some of the resources I got from Oriental Trading, and how I'm using them!

First up: Stackable Bins and Magnetic Dry Erase Lined Chart Paper
I desperately needed some paper bins for my writing center, and as soon as I saw the colorful stackable ones I KNEW they'd be perfect. And they are!!!
They stack nicely, and I have them in two different spots in my room - the writing center (pictured above) and the word work center. I have kept mine stacked with only two bins, but I stacked as many as four when I was trying to figure out how I wanted to set up my centers, and even that many stacked just fine!

Also in my writing center you can see that I've used the Magnetic Dry Erase Lined Chart Paper, and I just LOVE it. I like that I can make my anchor charts for center expectations using dry erase. This way I can easily change up what the charts say as the year goes on. Plus, I always run out of regular chart paper so this will be a lifesaver!

Next up: Idiom Pocket Chart
I really wanted a resource to help my kids understand figurative language, and when I saw this resource from Oriental Trading, I had to give it a go! In my classroom, we're only focusing on one idiom a week. At the beginning of the week, I show them the phrase and we take predictions on what it means. As the week goes on, we add more to the pocket chart. By the end of the week, the pocket chart is full and the kids understand it and can use it! I'm hoping that after a few weeks of doing this I can take out the ones we've done so far, mix them up, and make this into a center.

Last up: Intermediate Word of the Day
Now, technically I'm a primary teacher; however, I reeealllllyyy wanted to up my vocabulary game in my room. These word of the day cards are really big and colorful, and there are some GREAT words in there. Instead of using mine as Vocabulary Word of the Day, I decided it would be more age appropriate to use mine as Vocabulary Word of the Week. I LOVE it! Plus, by the end of the year this long, skinny bulletin board I have above the two chalkboards in my room will be full of awesome words by the end of the year!
